Michael Stanek – SLAC Operations

Mike’s first exposure to SLAC was on a high school physics class field trip in 1977. The visit made a big impression, and after completing a Bachelors degree in Physics at UC Berkeley, he came to work at SLAC as an accelerator operator. He has enjoyed the constantly changing technical challenges of working in the Operations Section for the past 22 years, as an operator, engineering operator-in-charge (crew chief), and deputy Section head.
