Beautiful natural settings

This course originates from Asahina Kiritoshi which still preserves its original form from the Kamakura Period. Experience the tranquillity still present in the mountain streams and straw thatched farmhouses. Feel the timelessness of Hokokuji Temple in its bamboo surroundings and Sugimotodera temple, the oldest temple in Kamakura.

Asahina Kiritoshi, with its thick trees and the atmosphere of a thousand years ago.

Temples in Kamakura are generally small with the exception of Komyoji Temple and its 2000 year-old Oga lotus. The atmosphere of 700 years ago comes alive in these temples, set amongst houses surrounded by bamboo fences. Feel free to wander to the beach of Wagaejima, the remains of the oldest artificial port in Japan.

Komyopuji Temple's garden has many pools and fountains. Beautiful lotus flowers bloom here in summer.
