There are two WAO committees; the International Program Committee (IPC) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC). The LOC changes with each workshop and is composed of members from the host laboratory of each new Workshop. In general, the IPC Chairperson is the leader of the LOC and selects its members based on his/her needs. The IPC is composed of approximately 12-15 members from different worldwide laboratories. The members of the IPC have a planning meeting approximately every year. During non-WAO years, they meet with the host laboratory to develop the workshop program. The following meeting would be held during the workshop itself. The IPC Chairperson is a staff member of the facility that is scheduled to host the next WAO.
