In selecting the winning posters, emphasis will be given to quality of presentation and clarity of communication in the poster. Quality and originality of research will also be an important factor. Posters will be judged on:
- how clearly the purpose and significance of the work are explained;
- the extent to which the level of explanation and detail allow understanding by researchers outside the specific area of research, as well as appreciation by experts;
- the awareness of previous work on the topic, and the extent to which relationships with other current research activities are explained and explored;
- how effectively images and graphs are used to illustrate and emphasise key ideas and results;
- how the quality of the research, and the contribution of the presenter, compare with other work presented during the session.
